Location: Seattle, WA

Level: Mid

Estimated salary: $123,500
Range: $102,000 - $145,000

Description

Engineer structural enclosures and modular steel assemblies, including structural analysis to ensure integrity during transport, lifting, and site installation. Design module layouts for server racks, power distribution, and cooling infrastructure, ensuring cross-functional alignment of mechanical, electrical, and control systems to eliminate spatial conflicts. Develop electrical systems, integrating uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), battery energy storage systems (BESS), solid-state transformers (SST), switchgear, and power distribution units (PDUs) while producing deliverables such as single-line diagrams, schematics, and cable schedules. Lead prototype development, cooling implementation via computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling, factory witness testing (FWT), and system commissioning, ensuring designs are manufacturable for production. Provide technical support for deployed assets and maintain industry standards including UL2755, UL 75, UL 62368-1, and NFPA 70.

Our thirst for technology is a part of everything we do. The Data Center Engineering team takes the physical design of our data centers into the future. Our lab mirrors a research and development department -- cutting-edge strategies are born, tested and tested again. Along with a team of great minds, you take on complex topics like how we use power or how to run state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

In this role, you will drive the end-to-end design and integration of high-density, modular/prefabricated data center product portfolio. You will bridge the gap between structural engineering and mission-critical electrical/thermal systems, transforming sophisticated concepts into factory-ready, manufacturable assets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$145,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
