Description

Develop and execute comprehensive communications plans for the GCP portfolio, aligning with product launches, platform updates, and strategic initiatives.

Craft compelling messaging and pitches that translate GCP's technical capabilities—including developer tools and agentic solutions—into impactful business and industry stories.

Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders across the GCP engineering and product organizations, preparing them for external press engagements and thought leadership.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key tech, developer, and business journalists, as well as key opinion formers to secure high-impact coverage.

Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Engineering, Developer Relations, Legal, and Government Affairs teams to ensure cohesive, consistent, and integrated messaging across complex, cross-portfolio initiatives.

As part of the Google Cloud Communications team in Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA), it’s our job to help inform and educate customers, partners, opinion leaders — and our own employees — about the benefits of our products, our company culture and values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. To succeed here, you'll need to combine creativity with organizational skills and manage numerous projects to tight deadlines simultaneously, as well as enjoy pitching to journalists, bloggers and commentators. Things happen quickly at Google, and you’ll need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally, and someone who isn't afraid to take risks or try new things.

In this role, you will act as a subject-matter specialist, developing and executing long-term external communications plans that align directly with overarching business goals across the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. You will translate complex engineering milestones and product breakthroughs into compelling stories that resonate with a different range of audiences, from developer communities and data scientists to enterprise business leaders.

Additionally, you will navigate the intersection of technical, developer-focused communications and high-level enterprise business narratives. Your proficiency in executive stakeholder management, business acumen, and external relationship-building will be crucial as you coach executive leaders, build strong media partnerships, and safeguard Google Cloud's reputation across this expansive portfolio.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$205,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
