Description

Understand the business context, structure appropriate compensation interventions and provide customized insights as the compensation partner lead for a portfolio of functions across Google. Work closely with other compensation analysts, managers, business leaders, people partners, and recruiting teams to provide guidance and recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related business problems. Manipulate large data sets in complex ways to tease the meaning from the numbers and convey findings to leadership. Participate in the research, development and administration of assigned compensation programs. Monitor program success and play a governance role in the review of compensation policies. Work on special projects such as market data benchmarking, pay-for-performance analyses and compensation business reviews.

As a Compensation Partner, you will ensure that compensation for your product area (s) in Google is both externally competitive and internally reasonable. This role partners with the people partners, business leaders and various POps functions like staffing. You will also partner with the internal Comp team to ensure effective management of the compensation programs and processes, and firm understanding of benefits programs. As a Comp Partner, you will play a key role in providing product area-specific insights in helping teams design, implement and communicate our compensation programs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$213,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration or another field that uses quantitative analysis, or equivalent practical experience. 7 years of experience in analytical HR role, investment banking, management consulting (e.g., strategy, compensation) or similar analytical role. Experience using analytical methods, tools, and mathematical concepts to identify, design, recommend, and implement compensation solutions.

Experience with HR policies, practices, principles, state and federal employment laws, and related regulations.

Preferred qualifications: Experience communicating across audiences, situations, and contexts in both a written and verbal format. Experience with SQL or R as well as strong spreadsheet skills. Knowledge of and ability to use survey methodology to conduct research for various purposes. Ability to present information regularly and comfortably, and influence at the senior leadership level. Ability to consult with business leaders to develop innovative solutions that address individual department needs while maintaining the integrity of Google’s compensation philosophy and upholding our governance duty. Project management skills and the ability to manage across multiple priorities.
