Description
Lead strategic and technical oversight for our clean electricity carbon reduction strategy, including procurement of energy instruments. Work cross-functionally to develop and drive the execution of clean energy and carbon reduction strategies in pursuit of Google’s sustainability commitments. Work with our technical teams to build the analytics, business intelligence, and tools necessary for tracking, forecasting, and reporting to support decisions and leadership reviews. Lead efforts with external experts and industry partners to drive progress on the broader ecosystem required for our program’s success.A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
Energy is a key lever of our operational and value chain decarbonization roadmaps. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our carbon reduction strategy, execution, and analytics related to energy instrument procurement across our portfolio. As part of these efforts, you will work with various teams to obtain data, interpret it into actionable insights, and drive emissions reduction initiatives to support and guide our clean energy and other strategic efforts. You will also be responsible for providing relevant metrics, portfolio insights and analysis to support and guide our clean energy strategic efforts. Through collaboration with key stakeholders, you will help to shape our perspective on carbon emissions mitigation and enable the broader carbon reduction ecosystem.
The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions. We drive the development and implementation of Google’s global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks. We drive sustainability strategy and programs on carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, reporting, and employee engagement, while serving as a sustainability leadership advocate internally and externally.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Science, or equivalent practical experience8 years of experience in management consulting, business operations, business strategy, or corporate advisory with a focus on energy markets or grid infrastructure Experience leading teams and groups of internal stakeholders
Preferred qualifications: 8 years of experience in climate science, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) standards and accounting Experience leading and executing complex strategic and operational initiatives for large organizations Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and compelling communications for cross-functional and senior leadership audiences Proficient in analysis of large data sets and policy research to deliver insights and decisions Highly collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented, with a strong commitment to driving execution and fostering a culture of innovation
