Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Mid-Level or Senior Materials & Processes Engineer with expertise in Metals to join our team. This position is part of the BCA Supply Chain Engineering organization and located in Everett, Washington. This role will involve taking proactive steps for improving production health, responding to emergent technical issues associated with Boeing suppliers, and supporting the technical integration of metal forging and casting qualifications for aircraft parts at suppliers across the world.

Position Responsibilities:

Interface with cross-functional engineering and business teams to develop supplier implementation plansPerform technical capability evaluations of metallic raw material casting and forging suppliersCoordinate with Boeing Global Engineering teams to support regional supplier activitiesLeads others and work statement, assist defining strategies and/or provides consultation for metallic raw material casting and forging suppliersProvide education and guidance to non-technical stakeholders on metals technologiesDefine requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and maintenance of products and approve their useEvaluate emerging technologies for potential application to business needsLead development of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirementsIntegrate new technologies as appropriateProject manage and coordinate test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirementsConduct complex analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processesImplement corrective and preventive actionsPromote standardization across business activitiesUse project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements. Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement3+ years of experience with metallic materials and metallic processes5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Experience:

9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with Aerospace castings, forgings, or wrought productsExperience with metallic machiningAerospace industry experienceDegree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent

Travel Requirements:

10% domestic and international

Summary pay range for Mid-Level (level 3): $119,850 - $162,150Summary pay range for Senior (level 4): $146,200 - $197,800
