Find your future with us.The Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) Materials & Manufacturing Technologies (MMT) organization is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Metals and Mechanical Parts team in Tukwila, WA, Auburn, WA or Huntington Beach, CA
This position will lead and manage multi-site and multi-disciplinary materials and processes engineering teams focusing on metal materials, metal fabrication (forming and machining) and mechanical parts technologies located in Auburn, WA, Seattle, WA and Huntington Beach, CA. This highly skilled team provides technical expertise supporting across all business units (BCA, BDS and BGS) with material and process technology development, specifications and standards, supplier qualifications and recovery, and emergent program and production support.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead a large multi-skill, multi-site team of first-level managers, engineers, and technicians to deliver on commitments in a responsive, efficient manner
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes, managing technical risks, optimizing processes and requirements
Develop and implement strategy to enable productivity with global stakeholders
Work effectively across functions, develop relationships with key business stakeholders, and interact with executive leadership
Lead and execute a broad statement of work within the MP&P skills (metal materials, fabrication, mechanical parts, development, and implementation)
Acquire resources for department activities, drive process improvement activities and technical management of suppliers
Manage, develop, and motivate employees and first-level managers.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
10+ years of experience in engineering
Experience working with metals and mechanical parts
5+ years of management experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
15+ years of related work experience
3+ years of metal materials & fabrication and/or mechanical parts experience
Bachelor’s degree in materials science or mechanical engineering
