Position Overview:

Come join Boeing’s Mobility, Surveillance, and Bombers Team in Tukwila, WA and the unique opportunity to work on the next generation Presidential Aircraft. The Interiors Team is seeking an Interiors Certification Engineer to fill a critical position.

As an Interiors Certification Engineer, you will be responsible for interfacing heavily with our customer, supplier, sub-tiers, and other Boeing teams to provide strong requirements management, certification, and program management to solve complex technical challenges. The team will focal specific areas of the interior and drive technical resolution, integrated development, and change for areas including, but not limited to, passenger seats, lighting, ceilings, sidewalls, floors, monuments, and furnishings. Engineers will maintain conversations with our USAF counterparts to develop and maintain relationships and act as the ‘voice of the customer’ in supplier interactions.

This is a high visibility role with technical assignments that directly support the program’s top level goals, initiatives, and challenges. This position offers the potential to broaden skills and experience across multiple engineering disciplines, commodities, and business units.

The ideal candidate should be willing to stretch beyond their experience base and lead where process definition may not exist or is unclear. This person will be self-motivated, able to work under consultative direction, has excellent people skills, and has the ability to negotiate, build consensus, and deliver results. A quick learner that possesses the ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts across multiple disciplines.

Position Responsibilities:

Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.

Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.

Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

10+ years’ experience working with commercial payloads systems and/or interiors

10+ years of experience establishing relationships and maintaining strong on-going communication with customers, suppliers and/or vendors

Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines

Proven experience as a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills, and a focus on translating technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

10+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience leading projects through the design and initial implementation phases with handoffs to production installations

Experience with Military or Commercial Derivative Aircraft

Experience with delivery and certification processes, working with FAA regulations, and Regulatory Administration

Experience working across multiple business units and/or complex organizations

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: $157,250 - $212,750
