Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space is seeking an Inspector Modification B Position in Everett, WA, for the KC-46 Program. In this position employees perform all required inspections on aircraft undergoing modification/change/refurb. Employees will inspect parts, assemblies and systems for conformance with specifications. Employees will observe functional tests on various aircraft systems and record results. Communicate with shop personnel for in-process inspection or functional test and obtain the applicable drawings, Boeing (BAC) Specifications, and any other necessary documents.
Position Responsibilities:
Ensure that appropriate revisions of drawings and other documents are being used.Verify all paperwork and on-line systems (e.g., Operations and Inspection Record, SOI, Test Inspection Records, nonconformance items) are complete, accurate and up to date.Inspect and verify all systems ready for functional tests.Witness or verify operational/functional test of aircraft systems and components, as required, per engineering requirements and operating procedures.Use automated test equipment (ATE). Determine if operational and/or functional testing is required after rework, repair or replacement of system components.Coordinate with engineering, and perform Shakedown Inspections (final inspection on completed aircraft assemblies/areas prior to customer acceptance) and record any discrepancies on an EPD/Non-Conformance Record/Pickup.Perform in-process inspections (e.g., hole check, torque, seal squeeze out, cold work, finishes).Inspect electrical assemblies (e.g., installation, crimping, termination, routing). Inspect completed assembly jobs and review workmanship, dimensions and locations (e.g., fit and fair of all doors and panels), and ensure all parts/assemblies have been installed per the drawing, specification and plan using applicable mathematical calculations and precision measuring tools.Identify and document discrepancies and report to shop as necessary.Reject assembly or installation. Document discrepant condition(s) and location(s) and what the correct configuration of the assembly or installation should be, citing drawing, BAC specification, or plan requirements.Record results and take paperwork (e.g., P/U, EPD, NCR) to Material Review Board (MRB) area for processing.Indicate QA acceptance on the appropriate paperwork and/or on-line systems and process the paperwork/systems per appropriate procedures and policies.Verify, record and re-inspect removals/reinstallations of parts/assemblies.Perform line checks to investigate existing condition on other airplanes, and reject if necessary.Audit manufacturing and inspection processes.Ensure certification of tools, test equipment and personnel are current.Work with engineering and FAA on red label equipment to ensure parts and assemblies are segregated from production parts and assemblies.Work with customers and consult others (e.g., production, engineering, planning, customer coordinator) on process or job-related issues.Prepare work package for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and/or Customer inspections.Handle, use and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner.Assist other employees with functions, methods, and procedures by passing on information and answering questions.Work under conditions that require occasional (1-3 Hrs.) Finger manipulation, Flexion/Extension, Handling, lifting less than 25 pounds, Rotation of head/neck, Sitting, Standing, and Walking.Must pass visual acuity and color perception test.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Security Clearance & Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must be a minimum of at least 18 years of age.Minimum one year of experience of quality assurance.Minimum three years of experience using computer systems for office and shop applications. Minimum five years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Preferred one year of experience working with measurement and testing equipment.Preferred five years of experience reviewing engineering documents, drawings and process specifications.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Shift:
This position is for 2nd shift.

Summary pay range: $26.50/hr. - $46.27/hr.
