Are you passionate about facility automation and control systems? Do you have a strong desire for equipment safety and reliability? Global Real Estate and Facilities seeks a Senior Facilities Automation and Controls Engineer to join our Facilities Engineering and Technology team in Renton, WA.

As a Senior Facilities Automation and Controls Engineer, you will be crucial in supporting the facility automation and controls systems for crane systems that are vital to our manufacturing operations. Your expertise and dedication will ensure these systems’ continuous and reliable operation.

You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines, maintenance teams, and operations teams to troubleshoot control systems and maintain the smooth functioning of crane operations. Your contributions will also be essential in long-term maintenance planning to ensure the optimal performance of crane control systems. Your responsibilities will encompass the design, development, procurement, and modification of automation and control systems for overhead crane systems at our Renton facilities, Your creativity and innovative thinking will be highly valued, and you will contribute to the important and enhancement of these systems.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop conceptual designs, cost estimates, and preliminary project schedules based on customer requirements for equipment installations requiring control hardware, such as Allen-Bradley systems, Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), and control/ladder logic development/programming

Interpret and analyze applicable regulations, standards, codes, and ordinances concerning project requirements to assist with control design

Tailor project design documents to incorporate control requirements that meet the control needs of engineering disciplines, outside consultants, facility standards, and regulatory/government agencies

Review and approve controls/building automation designs to assess compliance with customer requirements, building codes, and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices, and standard/consistent software design

Verify equipment specifications, materials and software included in final designs align with existing control infrastructure

Support construction projects by providing input on vendor selection and proposal review

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. Tomeet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering

5+ years of experience in an engineering role

3+ years of experience reading & understanding engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications

1+ years of experience using AutoCAD or similar software

Ability toperform work at heights up to 50 feet above ground level with appropriate safety gear

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5+ years of experience with automation hardware and software from Rockwell, Siemens NX, or other software

5+ years of experience supporting industrial automation control systems

3+ years of experience working with automation and control systems for crane and hoisting systems

Experience configuring control networks including Ethernet and Serial Communication

Experience in ladder logic, function block diagram, statement list or similar languages

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $118,850 – $162,150
