The Communications and Sensing Technology team is seeking an experienced microelectronic packaging engineer to be part of a team to design electronic devices and boards for communication, sensor, electronic warfare and satellite systems. This person will lead advanced electronic packaging analysis, develop architectural approaches and detail specifications as well as conduct packaging design reviews to ensure compliance to program requirements. Also be responsible for resolving complex issues on critical programs related to advanced packaging approaches, requirements, specifications and design.

Position responsibilities:

Develops and validates requirements for various complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and componentsDevelops and validates electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structuresDevelops architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms. Performs complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirementsDefines and conducts critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements. Manages appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirementsProvides support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issuesSupports project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviewsGenerates major sections of proposals to support development of new businessWorks under minimal direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryExperience developing advanced beamforming algorithms for phased array antennas / active electronically scanned arrays design experience is required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Some combination of the following skills is necessary for this position:

Signal processing for RF communication, electronic warfare and radar systems (including but not limited to MIMO, adaptive filtering, equalization, direction finding, channelization, constant false alarm rate detection and fixed point algorithms)Experience in digital signal processing algorithm development in MATLAB and/or PythonExperience working with RFSoC, or equivalent SoC and VHDL programming of FPGAs for rapid algorithm validation and demonstrationImplement ML/AI techniques to stochastic signal processing problemsR&D project planning and reporting, team building and mentoringExperience in leading or supporting proposal writing teams for externally funded Contract R&D opportunities with U.S. Government customers

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
