Find your future with us.Boeing Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) is seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Programmer Analyst to support the Security Technology, Assessments, and Risk Compliance (STARC) team as part of Boeing Enterprise Security (BES). This hybrid position may be based in Mesa, AZ; Seal Beach, CA; or Seattle, WA.
The ideal candidate will work within a complex, fast‑paced environment delivering technical security solutions that primarily support physical security operations and services that protect people, property, products, and information. This individual must have strong technical analysis, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills to perform effectively in a dynamic environment. A positive attitude and self-motivated approach are essential to lead modernization and cloud rehosting efforts for legacy web and application layers and provide technical leadership and mentorship across teams.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead architecture, design, and implementation of modernized web applications and APIs; propose migration strategies (lift‑and‑shift, replatform, refactor) and lead execution
Collaborate with product owners, architects, security, and infrastructure teams to prioritize modernization efforts and align roadmaps
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise CI/CD pipelines, automated test suites, and release orchestration across multiple environments
Define and enforce IaC best practices, reusable modules, and deployment governance for Azure and/or AWS
Lead container and Kubernetes platform strategy, including operational runbooks, capacity planning, and scaling
Integrate security into architecture and SDLC: threat modeling, SAST/DAST, secrets management, and compliance controls
Drive incident response, lead post‑mortems, and own remediation and continuous‑improvement actions
Mentor and coach engineers, lead design/code reviews, and promote engineering standards and automation
Drive observability, performance tuning, cost optimization, and operational reliability for cloud workloads
Produce and maintain architecture documentation, runbooks, and migration plans
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical degree
5+ years of professional experience in software development
5+ years of experience with CI/CD platforms (GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar) and pipeline automation
5+ years of experience hands‑on production experience with Docker and Kubernetes at scale
5+ years of experience architecting and operating cloud infrastructure in Azure and/or AWS
5+ years of experience in one or more languages (C#, Java, Python) and enterprise frameworks (.NET, Spring Boot)
5+ years of database experience (SQL and familiarity with NoSQL)
3+ years of experience designing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Bicep/ARM/Terraform/CloudFormation
3+ years of cloud security services and using secure architecture principles
Ability to obtain and maintain required enhanced background screening and security requirements, which requires being a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
9+ years of relevant experience as described in the job description, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of professional experience in software development, cloud engineering, or DevOps roles with senior/lead responsibilities
Track record of leading legacy modernization and cloud migration projects
Experience defining platform standards, developer self‑service tooling, or internal developer platforms
Front‑end modernization experience (React/TypeScript) desirable
Familiarity with AI‑assisted development workflows, spec‑driven development, and automated code quality toolchains
Relevant certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS, CKA, etc.)
Experience with observability, SRE practices, and cloud cost governance
Excellent technical analysis, communication, organizational, and stakeholder collaboration skills
Periodic on-site presence required
Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include early mornings, late evenings, or other off‑hours support
