Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking an Associate Wind Tunnel Operations Technician to join the Aerodynamic Testing team at the company’s Seattle, WA location. The Aerodynamic Testing is responsible for wind tunnel testing in support of airplane design, development, research, and technology development for all Boeing programs across all speed regimes.

In this position, you’ll be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and upgrading the various test facilities and infrastructure that supports Aerodynamic Lab testing activities. The primary lab for this position will be supporting the Boeing Propulsion Wind Tunnel (BPWT), however support at other local wind tunnel facilities may be required. An ideal candidate will have some working knowledge of jet turbine maintenance and operation, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

Position Responsibilities:

Project management and engineering support for maintenance and facility upgrade activities, including routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and large-scale projectsCoordinate with testing experts and program representatives to ensure facilities can meet necessary test requirementsCoordinate with various support organizations and vendors on required maintenance support and infrastructure related issues and projectsMaintain the lab process documentation and drawings specifically related to the test facilities and infrastructureMaintain or manage spares inventoriesSupport development of the capital and expense long range business plan (LRBP) inputs related to test facilities requirementsStaff program testing in the labs as a facility operator which can, sometimes, include extended or off shift times

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Associate’s degree or higher in related discipline AND 1 or more years’ of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience within aviation maintenance, engineering, or other complex technical fields

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

1+ years of experience operating Electrical, Mechanical, and/or Hydraulic Systems1+ years of experience managing daily/monthly craft work load to include reactive service requests as well as planned work and preventative maintenance activities

Summary pay range: $56,950-$77,050
