Find your future with us.The Boeing Enterprise Safety and Mission Assurance Team is looking to hire Systems Engineers to join the Airplane Safety Engineering (ASE) team onsite in Everett, WA. The ASE team actively participates in airplane development programs such as the 777-9, 777-8 Freighter, and future programs. We build strong relationships with multi-discipline engineering teams, requiring technical savvy, communication skills, and a passion for learning. Our role spans designing and certifying products, with a relentless focus on compliance, safety, and product integrity without compromise.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate (Level 2) or Mid-Level (Level 3) System Engineers.
As an Aerospace Systems Safety Engineer, you will ensure that safety analyses are properly conducted using airplane-level integration skills. This role demands an understanding of the complex integration of airplane systems, human factors, and operational integration. Attention to detail and a keen engineering mindset are essential, as our safety deliverables play a critical role in ensuring airplane compliance.
Successful candidates will be reliable, trustworthy, and accountable for delivering results. Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 25.1309, SAE ARP-4754, SAE ARP-4761, and hands-on experience developing and/or reviewing safety analyses are highly beneficial for this role.
The ability to take initiative, show leadership in cross-functional teams, and manage complex projects is essential. You will need to take ownership of work activities to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely completion.
Primary responsibilities:
Analyzes the integration of complex airplane systems and their corresponding airplane-level effects, failure indications, and flight crew actions as part of a system of systems analysisContributes by documenting safety analyses, hazard mitigation, validation, and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standardsSupports the definition and validation of safety, mission success, and airworthiness; provide support for incorporating these elements into designs, operations, and proceduresParticipates in tests, analyses, inspections, audits, and simulations to verify that systems meet defined safety and mission assurance requirementsAssists with creating and maintaining aerospace safety and mission assurance tools and processes
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer scienceLevel 2: 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience1+ years of experience in one or more of the following engineering fields: (airplane systems, aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, systems engineering, certification, or safety)Experience developing/applying aviation related system safety analysis methods, such as System Safety Risk Assessments, Fault-Tree Analysis (FTA), Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), and Safety Assessment Report (SAR)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience1+ years of engineering process experience with the following airplane programs 737, 737 Max, 747, 767, 777, 777X, 787Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actionsExperience with the commercial airplanes certification processExperience and familiarity with FAA processes and procedures and ODA and Applicant rolesExperience interfacing with the FAA and/or other certification regulatory agenciesExperience working in one or more of the follow aircraft systems: fuel, fire detection and extinguishment, hydraulics, environmental controls, mechanical flight controls, landing gearPilot license or pilot experience

Associate (Level 2): $94,350 - $127,650Mid-Level (Level 3): $114,750 - $155,250
