Description

AWS Security Specialist Organization is seeking a passionate and experienced security professional to help our customers build and enhance their security incident response capabilities in the cloud. You'll help customers design, implement, and optimize their threat detection and incident response programs while leveraging AWS's comprehensive security services portfolio.

AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. Key job responsibilities

* Lead strategic conversations with customers about their incident response requirements and guide them in building cloud-native security capabilities

* Design and implement automated incident response solutions using AWS security services

* Develop technical artifacts including playbooks, reference architectures, and automation tools to enable customers and partners

* Drive best practices for security incident handling and response across AWS customers

* Collaborate with AWS product teams to influence security service roadmaps based on customer needs

* Provide thought leadership in cloud security incident response through white papers, presentations, and workshops

* Mentor AWS sales and solutions architecture teams on security incident response capabilities

* Travel as required (up to 20%)

A day in the life

Drive strategic conversations with C-level executives and security leaders at an enterprise customer, discussing their cloud security strategy and incident response capabilities

Lead a cross-functional workshop to craft and deliver security best practices for a new customer migrating their critical workloads to AWS

Host a thought leadership webinar for the greater AWS security community, sharing insights on emerging threats and innovative response techniques in cloud environments

Collaborate with product teams to conceptualize a new feature that could revolutionize threat detection and incident response

Participate in a strategy session with internal teams to develop scalable solutions that will empower an entire industry vertical to improve their security posture

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer's most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses.

Qualifications

- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals



Extended Qualifications

- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients

- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization

- CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)

- Deep understanding of threat detection, incident response, and forensics methodologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
