Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Workspace Strategic Program Manager role is responsible for the development and execution of the global workplace strategy for Kuiper. They make it their mission to understand the priorities of the Kuiper business and own the growth strategy by leveraging those priorities. They act as a gatekeeper to ensure workspace is utilized in accordance with business requirements, while overseeing critical operational components including desk allocation, amenity services, parking solutions, and internal storage management. This role serves as the central point of coordination between facilities operations, business units, and support services to create an optimal workplace environment that enables business success. Operating at both macro and micro levels, this role requires seamless navigation between high-level strategic planning and day-to-day operational execution. Success in this role requires exceptional ability to navigate competing priorities and demands from multiple stakeholders, while maintaining strategic focus. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong judgment in balancing urgent operational needs with long-term strategic objectives, often in an environment of shifting requirements and time-sensitive demands. They must be able to make quick, informed decisions while never losing sight of the broader strategic vision and long-term goals of the organization.

Key job responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage desk moves, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and employee productivity

• Partner with transportation and facilities teams to secure and manage parking solutions and shuttle services as needed

• Develop and oversee internal storage management strategies, including space allocation, access protocols, and utilization tracking

• Collaborate with facilities and operations teams to optimize amenity schedules, including café operations, janitorial services, and other building services based on workspace utilization patterns

• Evaluate and adjust building services and amenity offerings to align with changing workforce needs and occupancy patterns

• Act as liaison between business units and facilities services to ensure proper scheduling and coordination of building services

• Establish collaborative relationships with teams across Kuiper and Amazon to build workspace roadmaps that will improve the workforce experience

• Provide appropriate program-level reporting

Own and communicate workspace strategic vision, updates, goals, program changes and roadmap to stakeholders and senior leaders

Export Control Requirement:

About the team

The Kuiper Workplace Operations (KWO) team manages construction projects, workspace strategy, lab environment programming, and facilities operations for Project Kuiper. Our mission is to optimize all Facilities operations within Kuiper environments to support high-velocity satellite production.



Qualifications

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership



Extended Qualifications

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

- Customer-experience focused: consistently exceeding expectations and prioritizing customer needs.

- Exhibit excellence in reporting: capable of synthesizing complex information into clear, actionable insights.

- Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates and maintaining transparency.

- While independent and self-driven, values collaboration, working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

- Problem-solving mindset: actively seeking opportunities to identify and address areas for improvement. teams to achieve common goals.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
