Description
We are seeking an experienced operations leader to drive our global workforce planning strategy within AGI Data Services. This role is central to ensuring our ability to deliver high-quality data for training large language models through effective capacity management and resource optimization across our global network.Key job responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
In this role, you will own end-to-end workforce planning for our global data operations teams. You will develop comprehensive capacity plans that align our workforce capabilities with the dynamic needs of our internal science teams. Your strategic planning will directly impact the quality and timeliness of data delivery for AI model training, making you a crucial partner in advancing our AI capabilities.
Team Leadership & Development
You will lead a distributed global team of analysts and managers responsible for workforce optimization. Success in this role requires strong remote leadership capabilities, with a focus on developing talent and maintaining high performance across cultural and geographic boundaries. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring consistent delivery standards across all sites.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
This position requires regular engagement with senior leadership, including weekly capacity and delivery reporting to the VP. You will collaborate closely with Demand Planning to align workforce strategies with projected needs, Operations teams to ensure smooth execution, and PXT/Talent Acquisition to support workforce growth and development. Your ability to communicate complex capacity plans and their implications to diverse stakeholders will be essential.
Analytics & Performance Management
You will own critical metrics including delivery accuracy and idle capacity, requiring sophisticated analytical capabilities and modeling skills. Using Excel and other planning tools, you will develop and maintain robust capacity models that drive decision-making and optimize resource utilization across the network.
Qualifications
• Extensive experience in operations planning, specifically in workforce capacity management• Proven track record of leading large, distributed teams
• Strong analytical capabilities with expertise in developing planning models
• Experience working with technical or data-focused operations
• Demonstrated success in stakeholder management across multiple organizational levels
• Advanced Excel modeling skills
Extended Qualifications
• An advanced degree in Operations Management, Business, or related field• Experience in data operations or AI/ML related businesses
• Track record of implementing planning systems or process improvements
• Multi-site operations management experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
