Description
Amazon is looking for a Senior Vendor Manager to own highly strategic vendors in the dynamic Furniture business. Core responsibilities will include managing profitability, optimizing our sourcing strategy, and identifying growth strategies in an evolving landscape. The candidate should have experience in building strong relationships, driving significant top and bottom line results, and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. They must have the leadership presence and communication skills to represent Amazon at executive levels. The candidate must also possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable drawing metric-based conclusions by managing an extensive amount of data. This person needs to have a deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for creating a world class shopping experience for our customers. The right candidate stays on top of industry and competitive trends, and is able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level to drive selection, sales, and margin growth, while also improving our customer experience and education. In addition, the Senior Vendor Manager must be an effective leader and communicator in working with Amazon internal groups such as in-stock management, site merchandising, marketing, PR, finance, operations, and retail systems.A Senior Vendor Manager is an effective leader and communicator and a seasoned problem-solver. A successful candidate should be able to define and drive long-term objectives and strategy for the business. He/she will be responsible for managing comprehensive selection across multiple large brands, developing collaborative marketing and promotions, and driving sales and margin improvements. The ideal candidate has strong business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management. Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills are musts.
Key job responsibilities
• Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets by executing annual and ongoing vendor negotiations.
• Have a thorough understanding of the industry, business trends, events, and continually monitor both industry and competitor developments.
• Maximize Amazon’s business and financial profitability through selection optimization and expansion opportunities.
• Have an understanding of customer needs and use that knowledge to advocate for, and drive delivery of, improvements that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.
• Build vendor/brand relationships - be the primary point of contact for vendor selection on-boarding, escalations, and negotiations.
• Coordinate across cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, all while meeting tight deadlines.
• Have a complete understanding (inclusive of the strategic context) of internal and external variables that impact your business. This includes owning forecasting, analyzing, understanding, and reporting on the business.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience with business analysis and P&L management
Extended Qualifications
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams- MBA
- Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.
- Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
