Description

As the Category Leader for Amazon's Physical Media business, you'll own the complete P&L and strategic direction for this specialized retail category while delivering exceptional experiences for passionate media enthusiasts. This senior role combines category leadership, P&L ownership, and strategic vendor management to drive the future of Amazon's physical media business, including DVDs, Blu-rays, 4K UHD, and premium collector's editions.

You'll lead a team of Customer Success Managers (CSMs), a Program Manager, and an Enhanced In Stock specialist, while partnering across Amazon's retail organization to define and execute the category strategy, and operational excellence programs. This position requires both strategic vision and hands-on leadership to grow Amazon's position as the ultimate destination for physical media collectors and enthusiasts. You will also work closely with the Prime Video Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) team on physical to digital strategies, with the opportunity to expand the role to include digital licensing scope.

Key job responsibilities

* Own full P&L responsibility and strategic direction for Amazon's Physical Media category

* Develop and execute the category strategy, including sourcing strategies, marketing initiatives, promotional calendar, and growth plans

* Lead the category merchandising strategy, including homepage presence, deal events, and promotional planning

* Direct inventory strategy and working capital optimization across the category

* Build and maintain executive-level relationships with major studios and distributors

* Lead vendor negotiations for strategic agreements and joint business plans

* Oversee team providing leadership and strategic guidance

* Partner with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Tech teams to drive category innovations

* Define and track category-level KPIs and business health metrics

Qualifications

- 5+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience

- Bachelor's degree

- Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management

- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration

- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership



Extended Qualifications

- Experience using data to influence business decisions

- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

- 3+ years of people management experience

- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $126,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $208,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
