We are looking for a UX Designer to drive the vision, definition and design of Alexa mobile and multi-modal experiences across a range of devices. As a UX Designer on our team, you will have a significant impact on our business and drive the vision, definition and design of multitude of experiences. You will invent and deliver throughout the strategy, design, and development lifecycle to build customer-focused solutions at scale. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. You must be able to lead projects forward in the face of ambiguity. From the beginning, you will play an integral role in defining problems, driving alignment around key customer experience outcomes, building workflows, building and testing low-fidelity prototypes, and designing delightful and highly-usable digital experiences. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in an open and collaborative peer environment. You must be able to lead projects and move forward in the face of complexity and ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end process, from problem definition to delivery.

- Use business requirements, user and market research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases and high-level requirements to shape product strategy.

- Work with partners to identify key jobs to be done.

- Design the information architecture, interface and interaction flows for Alexa mobile and multi-modal devices.

- Develop conceptual models that define the system of devices, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes.

- Design highly usable digital experiences by rapidly prototyping, testing and iterating on designs with internal partners.

- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns.

- Effectively work with project managers to plan projects for effective delivery while maintaining high standards for design.

- Be a passionate and effective advocate for design with non-design audiences.

- Write effectively to communicate design rationales and benefits to Amazon customers.

- Guide a cross-functional team and elevate the culture of UX thinking and design excellence.

A day in the life

In this highly visible role, you will work on some of the most challenging opportunities at Amazon today. You will use business requirements as well as user and market research to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements. On a daily basis, you will collaborate with a team of world-class multi-disciplinary designers, researchers, engineers, product managers and executives. You will use a variety of methods, including wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, high-fidelity mockups and specifications to communicate design thinking to senior leadership, engineering and product partners at every phase of product development.

About the team

You will join a team of designers working across devices to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Customer obsession is at the core of all of our design decisions. We dive deep with product managers, designers, and engineers to learn how they are serving their customers. We work cross-functionally to craft scalable, cohesive, and usable solutions for our customers.
