You'll craft innovative and meaningful solutions to meet Amazon’s 2M global and diverse employees where they are at.
This role will be responsible for the internal tools that power core benefit administration and operations. You are a hands-on leader who establishes a vision and leads the delivery of design artifacts. You excel through innovation, creativity, and attention to detail. You are a proven strategic thinker and collaborator who flourishes in a large organization. You sincerely believe that design is more than how something looks, but also how it feels and functions. You enjoy great design debates and thrive on iterating based on customer feedback.
Key job responsibilities
- Analyze customer problems through data and research to inform and design delightful solutions with measurable impact.
- Work closely with product and business teams to develop use cases and high-level requirements.
- Quickly, yet thoroughly, create journey maps, flows, and mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate the right detail for the audience.
- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface and interaction specifications.
- Present and defend design recommendations to partners, stakeholders, and senior leadership for review, feedback, and approval.
- Partner with technology teams to ensure we leverage the scale offered by our platform without compromising on core experience principles.
- Measure the success and effectiveness of the experiences you’re designing.
A day in the life
The UX Designer will work alongside other mid-to-senior level UX designers and researchers, UX writers, product managers, engineers and leaders to build and maintain artifacts from discovery through to delivery.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience- Experience in delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)
Extended Qualifications
- Experience in mass-market consumer web / mobile products- Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
