Help collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs, and online experiments. You will identify and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research and help advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.
Key job responsibilities
As a UX Researcher you will/may:
• Define and execute a comprehensive research plan.
• Identify best method or mix of quantitative and qualitative methods based on priorities, research questions, timeline, and resourcing.
• Design, conduct, and analyze results from a variety of research studies including usability lab studies, remote research, field studies and survey design.

Qualifications
• Currently working towards a Master's Degree in Human-Centered Interaction, Statistics, Psychology, Design, Computer Science, or other equivalent technical discipline, with an expected conferral date between September 2024 – September 2025 and/or completed your degree no more than 24 months ago.• Knowledge reviewing user research and data to build a strategic and user-friendly design.
• Provide at least two creative materials for Amazon to review. They can be in any format (i.e. website, PDF, slide deck, etc.). Please review the Creative Materials Guidance section below.
Extended Qualifications
• A portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas).• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
• A passion and capacity to advocate on behalf of our users.
• User research or other experience from a technical field, such as software development, systems management, or similar.
Creative Materials Guidance:
• Show your thinking: Include at least two projects indicating the problem you were trying to solve, your design process, early design iterations, the final implemented design. We want to see your approach.
• Pay attention to detail: A submission is a visual story-telling (beginning, middle, and end). Have a clear visual hierarchy, consistent spacing and alignment, and show your intention behind your decision.
• Be customer-centric: Explain who your customer is, their unmet needs, how you validated or invalidated your assumptions about your customer, and how your design addresses their needs.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $158,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
