Our north star is that technology serves HR professionals, never replaces their judgment on decisions that affect employees' lives.As a Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) on this team, you will lead the delivery of Amazon's most important HR technology programs, building the next generation of AI-powered tools that reduce repetitive administrative burden in HR workflows so HR professionals can focus on high-judgment, high-empathy work. You will also help refine our AI-augmented strategy and own end-to-end execution of programs that reimagine how HR professionals deliver support at Amazon's global scale.
Working closely with engineering, product, operations, and HR business leaders, you'll define scope, sequence, and milestones for our highest-impact programs. You'll drive coherence across our intelligent workflow ecosystem, including tools that surface contextual employee information, assist with policy lookups, support HR workflows, and provide natural language analytics. You'll establish evaluation frameworks and own delivery mechanisms that give senior leadership confidence in execution.
Your role requires influencing stakeholders across dozens of HR domains and countries, while knowing when to build consensus and when to make the call. You'll de-risk and deliver on our most important and high-impact projects and programs operating in sensitive contexts where getting it right matters deeply. You'll also mentor other TPMs and raise the bar for program management craft across the organization.
One of your first responsibilities will be to own the delivery of our unified HR platform with intelligent capabilities that converges multiple systems into a single experience for HR professionals worldwide. Your day-to-day will involve driving and influencing critical architecture decisions on AI-assisted workflow orchestration, shared infrastructure, and ensuring human judgment remains central to sensitive decisions while technology handles routine coordination.
Key job responsibilities
• 7+ years of technical program management experience
• 7+ years working directly with engineering teams on complex, cross-organizational technology programs negotiating priorities, and aligning teams toward coherent technical approaches
• 5+ years defining program strategy and driving delivery in ambiguous environments where business or architectural direction was not yet established
• Experience creating cross-organizational mechanisms and delivery structures that persist beyond individual projects
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex trade-offs and recommendations to VP+ audiences in written and verbal form

Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering experience- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
