Description
Are you a skilled writer and technology enthusiast pursuing a future in technical communication? The Technical Content Experience (TCX) group, also known as AWS Documentation, is seeking college students to join us as interns. In this position, you will apply your education and refine your technical writing skills with hands-on experience. You will produce high-quality, external publications that help AWS customers achieve their goals.As a Technical Writer intern, you will join one of our writing teams for a 3-month program this summer. With the guidance of a mentor, you will complete a project that resembles the work done by full-time, professional Technical Writers. You will deliver accurate, well-written, useful, and customer-focused documentation. You will work with other Technical Writers as well as Software Development Engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers, UX Researchers, and other roles in a cross-functional, distributed environment.
The ideal candidate has excellent writing skills and technical aptitude.
Key job responsibilities
- Produce high-quality documentation for AWS customers
- Follow a style guide to produce content that is consistent with AWS standards
- Produce examples for developers, such as example code, demo apps, or Jupyter notebooks
About the team
The AWS Documentation team writes and provides support for a diverse technical audience, such as developers, DevOps professionals, IT professionals, and technical program managers. On behalf of our customers, we innovate, we research, we learn, and we experiment. We collaborate with product managers to understand our customers’ needs. We partner with software developers to learn about the inner workings of AWS services so that we can influence product design and the customer experience with the product. We know that what we do makes a difference to our customers. We work and train together so that we are always learning from one another, and we celebrate and support the career progression of our team members.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in bachelor's or master's degree program in English, Computer Science, or a related field with a graduation conferral date between Oct 2025 and May 2027- Experience writing user-friendly content that helps people complete technical tasks, such as programming, administering IT systems, using software, or building cloud-based solutions
- Demonstrated ability to write content that is clear, well organized, and grammatically correct
- Ability to write basic example code in a programming language, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, .NET, or Go
Extended Qualifications
- Experience with cloud computing, web services, or related areas- Experience with machine learning/artificial intelligence
- Excellent attention to detail

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $27.93/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $62.45/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
