Description

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates software, hardware, and the processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers that move billions of units of inventory, employ tens of thousands of people, and ensure that customers get what they want when promised. We do this by building automated solutions to handle things that technology does well, while relying on people to handle things that humans do well.

The Inventory Controllership (ICON) team provides the authoritative source of financial information for billions of inventory units that Amazon holds in its Fulfillment Centers (FC) worldwide. As new inventory arrives at the FC, it is routed to optimal locations within the FC based on space availability, customer demand, and buying patterns. ICON tracks the end to end financial life cycle of this inventory, building systems that model new business workflows and gracefully handle variations in logistical processes.

We are seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to join the ICON team based out of Bellevue, WA. In ICON, we are building the next generation inventory cost management for Amazon. This system will empower our customers to automatically track, trace, and reconcile transaction-level financial records at Amazon scale, covering a wide diversity of business models across worldwide markets. As a Sr. Technical Program Manager in ICON, you will lead this effort, partnering with Development Teams to design and deliver highly scalable, distributed systems that set a new standard for financial record automation. You will enable and leverage Big Data approaches to provide new business insights to Amazon. You will build and own mechanisms that safeguard the health of these systems, enabling us to detect anomalies and address them efficiently.

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, you'll collaborate with software engineers, financial stakeholders, product management and operations teams to design, develop, and then deploy a large scale Big Data platform.

Key job responsibilities

* You will be responsible for the entire life cycle of systems under development, including requirements, program management and prioritization.

* You are a self-starter who is comfortable working independently with little direction.

* You enjoy working with complex hardware and software systems, are customer centric, and thrive on the challenge of implementing solutions at a scale only Amazon can offer.

* You will work directly with our business teams and stakeholders to understand and document requirements, understand problem space and drive prioritization with various engineering teams.

* You will work with our engineering teams to deep dive on system design, drive roadmaps and prioritization.
