Description

Amazon Ad eXchange (AAX) aims to match ad opportunities (supply) from various Amazon Owned & Operated properties and external publishers with ad campaigns (demand) from internal and external demand sources in an efficient, scalable and privacy-centric manner while balancing the needs of advertisers, publishers and consumers. We ensure high ROI for our advertisers, high yield for our publishers and high-quality ad experiences for our consumers.

AAX is a high scale (~4.2 MM peak TPS), low latency service that is critical to the entire Ad eco-system. The Amazon Advertising business is growing super-fast, and so is our service. The service and solutions we produce are used by dozens of internal business teams, as well as Amazon customers : Publishers, Broadcasters, and Advertisers. We are in a rapid growth stage where every contributor on the team has a chance to influence a material solution to our business.

As a Technical Program Manager for AAX, you will scope and deliver large projects end-to-end. Responsibilities include ownership of a delivery program, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing production launches. You will lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal teams to develop optimal solutions. You will be making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional teams. After technically following complexity of features and bugs, you will be able to recommend priority of issues keeping customers in focus.

The right candidate will possess strong technical skills to understand the nuances of the inter-system dependencies, a solid program management background, and will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects with 4+ teams. You must be able to thrive and succeed in a fast moving environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. You must be able to understand and independently represent the goals, priorities, and technical challenges of the AAX team without a technical representative present. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a timely manner.
