Estimated salary: $174,950
Range: $148,700 - $201,200
Description
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. We've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers — from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.Export Control - This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.
Leo Production Engineering Platforms (LPEP) is seeking an exceptional Senior Technical Program Manager to drive delivery of the software platforms that power how Amazon Leo builds satellites. Our platforms are the connective tissue between Leo's internal business teams — engineering, manufacturing operations, supply chain, security, and compliance — and the contract manufacturing partners who build with us. They provide the systems of record, automation, and tooling that enable Leo to produce satellites at scale, on schedule, and to spec.
In this role, you will drive a portfolio of platform programs spanning manufacturing execution and traceability, automated test orchestration across the build process, and security and compliance tooling. You will partner with engineering leaders and Principal Engineers to shape the multi-year roadmap, then own the program management craft that turns it into delivery: scoping, sequencing, dependency management, risk tracking, and the mechanisms that keep software, hardware, manufacturing, operations, networking, supply chain, launch, compliance, and security organizations aligned and unblocked.
This is a deeply technical role. You will go deep enough on integrated hardware-and-software systems to challenge designs, surface trade-offs, and translate technical decisions into business outcomes for senior leadership. You will engage directly with 3rd party contract manufacturing technical teams to understand their pain points firsthand, ensuring platform investments unblock real production constraints rather than theoretical ones — and that decisions across stakeholders are crisp, documented, and durable.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end delivery of platform programs supporting Leo's satellite production lifecycle, from incoming materials through integration, test, and launch readiness.
- Partner with engineering leaders and Principal Engineers to shape roadmaps, sequence investments against constrained capacity, and make build-vs-buy trade-offs.
- Establish the planning, status, and risk-management mechanisms that keep cross-org programs on track and escalate trade-offs early.
- Drive adoption of platform capabilities across internal business teams and 3rd party contract manufacturers through clear rollout plans and feedback loops.
- Represent program status, risks, and outcomes to Director- and VP-level audiences in operational and planning forums.
About the team
