Amazon Web Services' Global Connectivity and Network Availability – Delivery (GCNA-D) team is responsible for planning, building, and delivering the physical network infrastructure that powers AWS's global backbone and edge. Our team scales fiber network capacity, optical systems, border and DX deployments, and interconnection infrastructure across regions worldwide. Throughout everything we do, there's a core focus to be highly secure and operationally indistinguishable from perfect. Our mission is to deliver network capacity ahead of demand—ensuring AWS customers have the reliable, high-performance connectivity they depend on.As an AWS GCNA-D Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will define, scope, and manage the delivery of strategic programs from start to finish. Responsibilities include: Collect business and systems requirements from customers across Amazon; Author specifications; Drive project schedules from design to release; and Manage the production launch. You will lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts between internal teams and partners to develop optimal solutions. You will be expected to make appropriate trade-offs to optimize release schedules, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and local or remote project teams.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience leading large, ambiguous projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current technologies. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional technical programs for GCNA-D, demonstrating ownership of delivery from conception to launch
- Drive technical roadmaps and prioritization aligned with business goals and customer needs
- Manage dependencies, risks, and issues across engineering teams with a bias for action
- Dive deep into technical details while maintaining strategic perspective
- Develop metrics and mechanisms to measure program success and operational excellence
- Facilitate communication between technical and business stakeholders
- Continuously identify opportunities to invent and simplify processes
- Ensure high standards for service reliability, performance, and customer experience

Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Extended Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
