Description
Amazon Air is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join the Global Fleet Management team, leading aircraft conversion programs, overseeing aircraft deliveries and transitions, and managing third-party providers across our global fleet of 100+ aircraft.The successful candidate will bring deep aviation and technical expertise, strong organizational and communication capabilities, and a proven track record of driving process improvements that enhance fleet management efficiency. This position requires subject matter expertise in airline operations and maintenance practices as well as regulatory and compliance requirements. Experience working with aircraft leasing companies, airlines, or OEMs on aircraft acceptance, records reviews and audits is also essential.
The candidate should have a deep technical aptitude to deconstruct problems, evaluate interactions between internal/external stakeholders, and manage multiple large projects at one time. This role requires the ability to influence external and internal stakeholders, as well as clearly articulate complex technical updates to executive leadership across multiple organizations
Key job responsibilities
• Manage aircraft conversion programs and third-party providers to ensure aircraft are delivered on-time and on-budget
• Drive technical evaluations and support for aircraft acquisitions and dispositions
• Develop processes and standards that improve the aircraft acceptance timeline
• Contribute to annual budget input for aircraft requirements
• Work with partner teams to optimize costs based on an evolving fleet plan
• Support aircraft asset and records management systems
• Travel up to 25-50% of the time domestically and internationally
About the team
The Fleet, Aviation Sourcing, and Technical (FAST) organization’s role is to set the short, medium, and long-term sourcing strategies to enable the Amazon Global Air business to be successful. The organization oversees projects covering fleet, air carriers, ground handling, airframe and power-plant maintenance, ground support equipment, loading containers, fuel, and sustainability.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent field- Experience in aviation regulatory compliance
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing large, complicated programs
- 7+ years in aviation operations, aircraft maintenance, or fleet management
- 5+ years managing aircraft leases and delivery processes
Extended Qualifications
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership- Direct experience managing passenger-to-freighter conversion programs
- Experience in cargo airline operations or e-commerce logistics networks
- 10+ years in commercial aviation with fleet management focus
- A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) license

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
