Our Learning Experience Design team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager, passionate about manager and leadership development programs. As the owner of the Global Data Center Operations Manager Development program, you'll refine the vision, define and manage multi-year roadmap and stakeholders, and continue raising the bar for how key components of the program are delivered across the AWS Data Center Communities.
This position requires consistent collaboration with Senior Leaders in Data Center Operations, Safety, Security, Logistics, Planning, Delivery, and other teams to address their manager development needs. You will partner with Learning Experience Designers and external agencies to expand the curriculum over time. You will also collaborate with regional program leads and coordinators to ensure global reach and consistent delivery.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to deliver results and raise the quality bar for manager and leadership development. You must be able to orchestrate timely delivery of the current training modules, maintain and develop an internal pool of trainers, and drive the future development roadmap. The ideal candidate demonstrates ownership of outcomes, thinks big about scalable solutions,
dives deep into operational challenges, and maintains the highest standards while moving fast to meet business needs.
As the Senior Technical Program Manager and Program Owner, you will represent our organization across Data Center Communities. This entails translating organizational goals into an actionable roadmap and manager development plans. Your role will require communicating at all levels of organization, working with senior leaders, building relationships across global time zones and geographies
Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute strategies and mechanisms to ensure effective development and delivery of manager development programs that scale globally.
• Work with regional leaders to identify and support local manager development needs.
• Track, enhance and establish new metrics to make necessary short- and long-terms adjustments and demonstrate the impact of the program through reports and business reviews.
• Maintain and develop the pool of certified instructors who can deliver training and forecast future needs across different geographies.
• Manage scheduling, budgeting, and program delivery through global and regional program coordinators.
• Partner with Learning Experience Designers to improve and expand training programs.
• Communicate at all levels, including senior leadership across Global Data Center Operations and Data Center Communities.
A day in the life
Review global training metrics and coordinate with regional program leads to ensure delivery of manager development sessions. Connect with senior leaders from Data Center Operations, Safety, and Security teams to understand their manager development needs and translate them into delivery roadmap. Partner with Learning Experience Designers to refine curriculum and write a business review to demonstrate program impact. Nurture the pool of certified instructors, organize a train-the-trainer session or forecast future instructor needs. Plan budgets, stakeholder communications about program enhancements, or collaborate with external agencies on new training modules.

AWS Data Center Learning Experience Design team creates scalable learning solutions that enable builders within Data Center Operations to develop the technical competencies needed to work safely, securely, and effectively. The team designs learning experiences that span a builder's entire journey: from new-hire onboarding and safety training to advanced skill development for tenured employees. Our work directly impacts the safety, availability, and operational excellence of AWS's global data center infrastructure.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience- Experience managing programs related to training/learning across cross functional teams, and coordinating release schedules related
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management or Development, business, or similar related discipline
- Experience gathering, building, interpreting, and communicating performance metrics to multiple organizational levels
Extended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management or Development, business, or similar related discipline- Experience in a data center or other critical environment
- Experience executing manager enablement programs
- Coaching or Tool Certifications (Hogan, DiSC, EQi, Leadership Architect, MBTI, OCI, etc.)
- A strong business acumen and budgeting skills
- Superior communication skills, including the ability to effectively manage, influence, negotiate, write narratives and communicate with internal teams to meet operational performance goals

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
