Description

Do you want to take on one of the most important engineering challenges shaping the future of media and entertainment? Do you want to build out the technology that will enable the next generation of how and what Amazon customers are watching?

Prime Video is entering a new era where we're no longer satisfied having the greatest number of streaming customers, having the largest selection of content for our customers, or making award-winning movies and TV Shows. We want to define the future of streaming and become the default entertainment hub for customers worldwide. In order to realize this vision, we are seeking a deeply technical program leader who loves to go deep and get their hands dirty while also building out and scaling cross-organizational programs needed to conquer the challenges of building out the largest entertainment platform in the world.

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager in Prime Video’s Content and Data Platform org, you'll be at the forefront of defining and leading the programs needed for us to accomplish our vision. Our organization aims delight Amazon customers by building and extending innovative content data experiences, on and off Prime Video, supported by the world’s fastest and richest digital video catalog. In your role, will will work with our engineering, business, product and operations teams world-wide to define tangible roadmaps, drive execution of significantly complex programs, raise the bar on the engineering quality, and drive operational excellence initiatives. When needed, you will develop the systems and strategies used by Amazon worldwide and will regularly interact with senior Prime Video leadership. At the heart of Prime Video lies our platform that removes complexity from thousands of inputs (across dimensions like country, provider, station, business line, language, seasons, licensing requirements, etc.) across any given title (say Spiderman: No Way Home), integrates with other systems with Amazon, and reconcile parts of a title, so that when our customers are watching Spiderman in the US English or perhaps in Canadian French, they're presented the simplest and most compelling information about that movie. You will be responsible for building and extending upon these systems. You’ll work in a high-volume environment and will be required to lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains.

To accomplish this, you will be expected to have an established background in building highly scalable systems and system design, excellent collaboration and program management skills, great communication skills, ability to dive into the details and look around corners that are often ignored, and motivation to deliver credible results. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about connecting customer problems through underlying scalable software that raises the bar on customer and operational goals. Experience with building and operating web-based applications and/or web services-based applications, especially at massive scale, will be very applicable and helpful. Finally, you should love scaling yourself by mentoring motivated senior technical program managers.
