Description
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.Have you wanted an opportunity to secure an advanced satellite broadband telecom service? The Kuiper Security team owns the security of product and operations of Project Kuiper end-to-end. We provide the necessary paved path services, infrastructure and mechanisms to ensure the security of our satellite constellation and to protect the integrity and confidentiality of our customer data. Our team drives the research & development, deployment and operation of several mission-critical security systems and mechanisms. You will work in a start-up like environment, backed by Amazon’s infrastructure to bootstrap security mechanisms, and help instill the security culture in the organization.
The Principal TPM works with cross-functional teams of software and systems engineers, and industry specialists to drive cross-org programs in partnership with our business stakeholders and security partners. You'll continuously define and manage the customer requirements (from the business), dive deep into technical challenges or roadblocks and propose solutions (partnering with the engineering teams), translate these requirements into actionable plans, manage our shared roadmap with our business and security stakeholders, and our dependencies, and maintain our program rhythm for the org (business reviews, status reports, technical strategy). It is highly desirable that the Principal TPM has a strong technical and security background.
You are adept at establishing durable mechanisms, breaking down complex problems and define our incremental (working backwards) plans to achieve our goals. You'll collaborate and inform at all levels of the organization establishing processes that track our goals, objectives, milestones, progress and risks, and drive organizational alignment on trade-offs and priorities. You will own coordination across the entire organization to facilitate product and service launches, as well as iterative feature delivery.
A day in the life
In this highly dynamic role, you are a force multiplier in the organization, being able to apply high-judgment to know when to dive deep to unblock an issue, while zooming out to look at the big picture to ensure health of our programs. You are comfortable escalating with data where needed, looking around corners, anticipating program risks and proposing solutions to mitigate risks. You are able to operate across the spectrum from strategic to tactical to drive resounding impact.
About the team
Kuiper Trust Services owns the creation and operation of paved path services, infrastructure and mechanisms to protect customer data and Kuiper devices. We are part of the broader Kuiper Security organization chartered to protect services and applications within the Kuiper business teams.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Extended Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Technical depth and experience in cybersecurity domain.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
