In 2025, we are bringing the power of Large Language Models to Alexa and have the opportunity to build new products and features for kids from the ground up. Hence we are looking for strong, bias for action leaders who are not afraid of taking bold bets and trying new things to improve the kids customer experience for Alexa.

As part of a growing team, you will be iterating on new features and products to help drive innovation and expansion. You will work on cross-functional and cross-domain opportunities, tackle challenging projects aim and build out technology to enable novel customer experiences.

Key job responsibilities

The Sr. Technical Program Manager needs to not only excel in operating at a strategic level but also needs to understand when to dive deep to keep the project on track. Specifically, the Sr. TPM must set the bar on the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet timelines. The Sr. TPMs need to clearly and concisely communicate, both verbally and in writing, with senior management on status, risks and required mitigations to maintain project commitments. Sr. TPMs are expected to support the team in making appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. This role is a good fit for someone with a strong customer focus and product sense, who has a passion for working with new AI technologies and for improving the experiences for our youngest customers.

A day in the life

This role will test your skills across the board, including

- Cross-group coordination

- Ability to deeply understand AI technologies

- Influence technical architecture/design decisions

- Communicate risks and mitigations with senior leadership

- Advocate for end user experiences

- Operate efficient mechanisms

- Be able to dive into code when necessary



Qualifications

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 3+ years of software development experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules



Extended Qualifications

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
