Description
Amazon’s global fulfillment network enables any merchant to ship items that are ordered on Amazon to any place on earth. There is a complex network of ways in which items move between vendor locations, Amazon warehouses, and customer locations as well as several intermediate locations through which packages travel before reaching the customer. With a scale of millions of packages, each with different attributes and delivery requirements, what results is a highly dense graph of nodes.AMZL Operations Reporting, Business Intelligence & Technology (ORBIT) is looking for a customer focused, analytical and technically skilled program manager to drive large scale global analytics projects in the last mile delivery space. This position will be responsible for working with a team of BIEs and Data Engineers to build out analysis and visualization tools and processes’ to support our growing Amazon Logistics business World Wide.
The right candidate will possess a strong technical program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current technologies. You will not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also dive deep and get the job done. You will think critically, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and simplify and automate the processes. You would have demonstrated this with your prior experience working with teams in technically deep, quantitative and data-driven domains and feel excited about how to build upon that for our customers and sellers at the Amazon scale.
Key job responsibilities
1. Invent, design, and implement data frameworks to drive efficiency throughout the business intelligence solutions for AMZL
2. Coordinate design and innovation efforts across teams to develop optimal data solutions for AMZL. Tackle complex challenges and break them down into actionable steps, delivering results efficiently.
3. Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners.
4. Provide technical leadership for large-scale data, analytics, business intelligence and operational projects.
5. Develop and lead high-level strategic initiatives that will shape the future of our fulfillment network
6. Partner with Data Engineering and Software Development Engineers to prioritize and define AMZL data and BI development needs
Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
Extended Qualifications
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership- Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
- Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
