Amazon IT Product and Development (PnD) is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) who is innovative, passionate, and customer-focused, and is willing to “get hands dirty” in a start-up environment while being able to optimize delivery against both short and long term goals.

Key job responsibilities

You possess an established Technical Program Management track record with a well-rounded technical background in current web technologies. You launched mission-critical systems. You have strong interpersonal skills to manage large-scale and cross-functional technical product design and development roadmaps that deliver results.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for driving and delivering multiple complex projects simultaneously within our product management and development teams. You will provide project leadership, anticipate bottlenecks, mitigate project risks, quantify the impact of tradeoffs, and balance business needs against technical constraints. You will work closely with stakeholders across various teams to identify and drive innovative solutions that achieve business goals and align with long-term product roadmaps. You will build mechanisms to accelerate the deliveries of development teams and deliver value to customers.

A day in the life

* Dive deep to understand customer needs and collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to prioritize product deliveries

* Engage with partner teams to work backwards from customers and deliver technical requirements and narratives documents that drive alignment and decision making

* Contribute to evaluating system technical design, gap analysis and development prioritization across multiple product and development teams

* Establish mechanisms to accelerate Product and Development deliveries.

* Manage cradle-to-grave product lifecycles

* Implement the go-to-market plan and execution ensuring that internal teams have what they need to be successful

Qualifications

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 3+ years of software development experience

- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules



Extended Qualifications

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
