Description
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security team is looking for a Technical Program Manager who has a strong passion for security-at-scale. You will work on a team dedicated to building new services, features, and tooling to improve AWS Security capabilities. We develop the tools that keep AWS safe from malicious actors, preventing, detecting, and mitigation security events. We work closely with our Application Security, Threat Intel, Security Operations, and Security Analyst teams, to drive security improvements.We continually look for ways to improve the security and availability of all of the services offered by AWS, including EC2, S3, and more than 100 others. This is a high visibility team that solves security challenges at a massive scale.
Our team deals with immense quantities of data, pushing the envelope on scale and various advanced analytical techniques to find and mitigate security threats. While you may not be a security expert just yet, you have a passion for solving security challenges in innovative ways. You will be responsible for driving our roadmap and will have the opportunity to directly impact security across AWS. You'll identify opportunities where we can work with other teams within AWS to achieve our goals.
Key job responsibilities
-Identify and drive projects to improve security in AWS services, whether through automation or education.
-Help shape the vision for how automatic program analysis will raise the security bar of AWS.
-Drive engagement with AWS development teams and other security teams.
-Drive investigations into security issues and identify opportunities for further automation to eliminate future issues.
-Resolve ambiguities and align team plans to minimize technical risk and maximize odds of project success.
-Develop and review requirements for security automation tools.
-Track and report the team's progress using metrics that capture impact and value.
About the team
Our systems must be scalable to support a large and growing developer population that is innovating quickly. We help AWS developers build security into their systems, and we help AWS Security personnel verify that systems are secure. Our tools target all types of AWS systems in a range of domains including web services, IoT, robotics, hypervisors, and cryptography.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Extended Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
