Description
Amazon Advertising is seeking an experienced Principal Technical Program Manager to lead next-generation scalable solutions for Vertical Ads, to enable advertisers to reach customers across our owned and operated sites, on other high-quality publisher sites across the web, and on millions of desktops, mobile, and connected TV devices. We start with the customer and work backwards in everything we do, including Advertising. We seek candidates who want to join a team focused on building large-scale systems that integrate across multiple sources to provide unique industry leading advertising products that enable advertisers to achieve their goals.In this role, you will coordinate complex program initiatives across internal teams and stakeholders to prioritize roadmap features and deliver for strategic cohorts of customers. You have a high level of comfort with ambiguity, a deeply analytical mindset with the ability to investigate complex challenges and can effectively influence across organizations. You work backwards from the customer needs, dive deep into data to understand the issues, and drive technical programs to deliver those needs by working with cross-functional teams. You think big, have a bias for action, and bring a history of delivering results. You use market research, competitive analysis, and direct communication with customers to make informed decisions.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead planning and delivery of programs with multi-year roadmap using Agile methods
• Work on complex software systems in a customer-centric environment
• Manage cross-group teams spread across multiple geographies
• Handle communication from technical developers to VP level
• Bring strong understanding of distributed systems design
• Apply knowledge of cloud and service-oriented architecture
• Foster a data-driven culture that facilitates collaboration and accelerates innovation
• Deliver crisp messages, drive timely feature launches, and optimize solutions to complex problems
Qualifications
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Extended Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
