This position will be part of the Conversational Ad Experiences team within the Amazon Advertising organization. Our cross-functional team focuses on designing, developing and launching innovative ad experiences delivered to shoppers in conversational contexts. We utilize leading-edge engineering and science technologies in generative AI to help shoppers discover new products and brands through intuitive, conversational, multi-turn interfaces. We also empower advertisers to reach shoppers, using their own voice to explain and demonstrate how their products meet shoppers' needs. We collaborate with various teams across multiple Amazon organizations to push the boundary of what's possible in these fields.

As a Principal Program Manager for the team. You will drive appropriate technology choices for the business, lead the way for continuous innovation, and shape the future of e-commerce. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of the Amazon vision. You will play a pivotal role in driving our team's engineering and operational choices and processes as well as driving alignment with partner business, engineering, and science teams across Amazon on high profile projects that create new experiences for shoppers and advertisers. You will be instrumental in managing projects at all stages: inception, design, development, deployment, operations, and subsequent improvements.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will:

- Be a technical leader with direct impact on shopper and advertiser success

- Dive deep into performance and operational data and work closely with product, business, engineering, and science teams to develop a compelling vision and roadmap.

- Present technical plans to senior executives and key stakeholders and evangelize that technical vision within Amazon.

- Drive efficient execution of new initiatives, including collaboration with partner teams within advertising and across Amazon.

- Optimize engineering and science processes through hands-on ownership of our agile processes.

- Lead a team responsible for critical components and models delivering ads across Amazon's conversational interfaces.

- Collaborate with scientists to launch best-in-class GenAI-based solutions



Qualifications

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 5+ years of software development experience

- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition



Extended Qualifications

- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

- Knowledge of Basic AI Concepts and GenAI Application Development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
