Description
Project Kuiper is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. Hundreds of millions of people on Earth lack reliable internet access. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.As a technical product manager within the infrastructure arm of Kuiper Enterprise Technology, you will define and drive the product strategy for Kuiper's critical infrastructure offerings. You'll own the infrastructure service catalog, develop technical roadmaps, and ensure our infrastructure solutions meet the scaling needs of Kuiper's manufacturing, launch, and operations teams. This role combines deep technical expertise with product management discipline to deliver infrastructure solutions that enable Kuiper's ambitious growth plans.
Export Control: This position requires selected candidates to be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.
Key job responsibilities
• Own and evolve the infrastructure service catalog and technical roadmap
• Define infrastructure product offerings with clear SLAs, specifications, and lifecycle management
• Develop basis-of-design standards and playbooks for infrastructure deployments
• Partner with system engineers and developers to ensure technical feasibility and scalability
• Drive standardization of infrastructure solutions across global operations
• Create and maintain product requirements documents and technical specifications
• Lead infrastructure architecture decisions and technical direction
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and validate solutions
• Manage infrastructure product lifecycle from concept through deployment
• Define and track key performance metrics for infrastructure offerings
A day in the life
• Meet with manufacturing and launch teams to understand infrastructure needs
• Review and refine infrastructure product specifications
• Collaborate with engineering teams on technical implementation approaches
• Develop and present roadmap updates to steering committee
• Work with security and compliance teams to ensure requirements are met
• Review and approve infrastructure design standards
• Engage with vendors to evaluate infrastructure solutions
• Guide development of automation and scaling strategies
• Create and maintain product documentation
About the team
This is a newly created team responsible for delivering critical infrastructure that enables Kuiper's business across manufacturing, launch, and operations. We operate with a builder mindset, focusing on frugality with leverage through automation. Our team works closely with manufacturing, launch operations, and security partners to ensure infrastructure readiness for Kuiper's ambitious scaling plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience- Experience in technical product management, solutions architecture, or related field
- Experience with infrastructure technologies and solutions
- Strong background in systems architecture and engineering
- Experience creating and maintaining technical roadmaps
- Track record of delivering complex technical products
- Excellence in stakeholder management and communication
- Experience with product lifecycle management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally
Extended Qualifications
- Master's degree in technical field- Experience with manufacturing or industrial environments
- Background in satellite or aerospace industries
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and automation
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Track record of driving standardization across complex organizations
- Experience with security and compliance requirements
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills
- Background in agile development methodologies
- Experience with vendor management and evaluation
- Knowledge of SRE practices and principles
- Track record of mentoring and leading technical teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
