As Technical Program Manager, you will drive cross-functional teams to deliver solutions enabling a global Law Enforcement Response operations team. You will manage the lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact. You will drive the roadmap and requirements for your programs ensuring solutions meet business, legal, and security demands. As a senior technology program owner, you own the overall strategy and drive teams inside and outside your organization to deliver results.

You will align business and technical stakeholder needs through mindful discussions that lead to crisp decisions. You will provide context for business/technology choices and maintain a long-term perspective. You will partner with business stakeholders and engineering teams to determine project priorities. You will use technical judgment to question proposals and test assumptions. You will identify gaps between teams, processes, and system architectures. You will solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks. You will demonstrate good judgment in escalation timing and methods. You will drive decisions with data, regularly review metrics, and seek improved visibility mechanisms. You will ensure your program aligns with organizational objectives.

Key job responsibilities

1. Define a vision, roadmap, and long-term direction for law enforcement response programs.

2. Identify program initiatives, requirements, and problems proactively, then present sound solutions to enhance the security program.

3. Work closely with operations, cybersecurity, and legal stakeholders to define features and provide project updates.

4. Use data and analytics to formulate clear program objectives and goals.

5. Develop and manage projects from ideation through execution, including project scope, timeline, and implementation; coordinate remote work with field teams.

6. Address bottlenecks, manage escalations, anticipate tradeoffs, and balance business needs against technical constraints.

7. Develop business metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to increase adoption and create audit mechanisms (metrics, reporting, evaluation standards) to track and report on adoption.

8. Provide consistent, executive-level reporting on project status and outcomes.

9. Demonstrate effective communication skills (both verbal and written) across all levels of the business.

10. Influence senior leaders across Amazon Leo, and communicate progress, changes, issues, and resolutions clearly to all stakeholders.



Qualifications

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 3+ years of software development experience

- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience in Cyber Security and in at least one relevant technical area: large-scale systems engineering, queuing and messaging, Linux networking, performance analysis, software-defined networking



Extended Qualifications

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
