Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Marketing Operations Manager to serve as the technical and strategic owner of our Salesforce Marketing Cloud instance. This role combines hands-on operational support with strategic technical initiatives, requiring someone who can maintain day-to-day marketing operations while simultaneously building automation solutions, optimizing data models, and developing self-service analytics capabilities. This role mainly supports Marketing initiatives, and will also collaborate with business development, customer success, and operational teams on a variety of other email projects.

Key job responsibilities

Marketing Cloud Operations

- Independently design, build, and execute targeted email campaign and lifecycle marketing programs

- Serve as the technical owner and primary administrator of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud instance

- Implement marketing automation best practices and optimize campaign workflows

- Maintain active customer journeys and ensure seamless execution across all lifecycle stages

- Build and manage email segments for targeted campaign delivery

- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and build scalable solutions

Stakeholder Management & Requirements Translation

- Transform strategic marketing goals into actionable, measurable technical requirements

- Serve as the bridge between marketing strategy and technical execution

- Manage expectations across cross-functional teams while balancing operational and project work

- Collaborate with Business Intelligence and data engineering teams to define audience segmentation requirements

Data & Analytics Collaboration

- Leverage AWS tools and services to self-serve basic data requests and queries

- Understand database structures and data flows to troubleshoot data-related issues independently

- Design and manage ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data between systems

Qualifications

- 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 2+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience using email platforms and editing HTML

- Knowledge of data structures, data modeling, and database schema

- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional email and push marketing campaigns (including automated flows) from concept to completion

- Experience delivering against a large organization's long-term strategy and goals

- Experience with A/B testing, especially around audience segmentation and targeting

- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Contact Builder

- AMPscript and SSJS (Server-Side JavaScript) expertise for SFMC automation and personalization

- Proven ability to design and restructure SFMC data extensions for complex personalization

- Knowledge of email deliverability best practices, CAN-SPAM compliance, and data privacy regulations



Extended Qualifications

- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (Email Specialist, Consultant, or Developer)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
