We are looking for a Principal Technical Product Manager who will help drive the strategy for a confidential project. This candidate will be a founding member of a new team within Worldwide Sustainability. In this role, you will work with technical partners, both in sustainability and software, to develop a new highly visible solution and drive it to launch. You’ll work on solving problems of incredible scope that impact both Amazon and the planet.
Key job responsibilities
Your ability to communicate and influence others will be a key to success. You are a results-oriented, customer-focused product manager who gets excited about starting from scratch, running hard, and delivering a big impact.
- Set the overall product vision and direction for this new program.
- Work with engineering teams to translate customer needs into workable technology solutions that both get us quickly to launch and scale operationally.
- Interact with customers and internal stakeholders to formulate business strategies and shape product direction.
- Define and prioritize features and requirements and see them through from ideation to sprint planning and delivery.
- Perform customer interviews and surveys.
- Synthesize external and internal data to drive clarity and alignment in your team through business writing such as narrative papers and PRFAQs.
A day in the life
Your primary project will have VP visibility and will allow you to work across several different teams inside and outside the WWS org. Such is life at Amazon, your days will vary. One day you may be working with PhD scientists to gather requirements, another you may be working with The Climate Pledge team as part of a CX review. One constant is that the people you work with will share a passion for their work.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree- 7+ years of end to end product delivery experience
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
Extended Qualifications
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
