Description
Join AWS's dynamic tax team and shape the future of cloud computing tax compliance! As our State & Local Tax Analyst, you'll collaborate with innovative business teams to navigate complex tax landscapes and drive strategic solutions for one of the world's leading cloud providers.Key job responsibilities
- Partner with business teams to understand their needs and provide tax guidance
- Research and interpret state and local tax regulations
- Develop comprehensive written tax guidance and recommendations
- Monitor and assess tax law changes affecting AWS operations
- Support tax planning initiatives and system implementations
A day in the life
You'll engage with business partners to understand their objectives, research tax implications, and provide clear guidance. You'll analyze changing tax laws, evaluate their impact on AWS services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement necessary system changes.
About the team
Our Tax team is a collaborative group of professionals dedicated to ensuring AWS's compliance while supporting business growth. We partner closely with various AWS teams to provide strategic tax guidance and solutions that enable innovation while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Extended Qualifications
- CPA- J.D.
- LL.M. (Taxation)
- Master's degree
- Detail-oriented, organized and able to deliver on tight timelines
- Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Possess great communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to analyze and review statutes, regulations, and case law and make appropriate recommendations
- Able to work effectively in a team environment, both within the Tax department as well as cross-functionally

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $57,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $123,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
