The Systems Engineer / Technical Program Manager is responsible for coordinating across multi-disciplinary areas across Kuiper program for demos and service readiness. This is a high-visibility role responsible for cross-functional leadership and coordination across numerous work streams including ground stations, customer terminals, satellites, mission operations, payload commissioning, Kuiper Network Services (KNS), Amazon business development, etc. This is a technical role requiring experience with end-end system infrastructure and product deployment on a global scale.

Key job responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of Technical Program Management to develop system demos and get the Kuiper constellation to service readiness

• Collaborate with engineers and engineering leaders to create project execution plans with detailed dependencies.

• Develop and manage technical requirements and interfaces that tie to system level requirements.

• In collaboration with the engineering and supply chain teams, participate in periodic business reviews for the ground system and service readiness domains

• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.

• Work with product/program management leads to ensure that the systems development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

• Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-off recommendations, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.

• Adhere to Program Management practices for the team including risk management, requirements management, verification and validation.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.



Qualifications

- 3+ years in a technical lead, systems engineer, or technical program management role with experience leading product deployment on a global scale

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.

- Proficiency with at least one schedule tracking tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet or alternative.



Extended Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Hands-on working experience in spacecraft systems for all different phases of missions: initial design, development, test, delivery, launch and operation.

Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.

Ability to show judgment and lead and influence others.

Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with engineers, business owners, and senior business leaders.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
