We’re looking for a Systems Engineer with software experience who combines superb technical, analytical, and operational capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working closely with a team of top-notch software developers to guide them through the certification process during software design and development. This person will also collaborate with our systems and hardware engineering teams to own the certification process for our components. We’re looking for someone who innovates, and loves solving hard problems. You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history!

Export Control License

This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.



Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in aerospace, engineering, mathematics, or related field

- 8+ years professional development experience in a DO-178 environment

- Familiarity with at least one software language such as C++

- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Experience in communicating with end users, technical & business teams and management to collect requirements and describe technical designs

- Comfortable working with ambiguity and driving clarity



Extended Qualifications

- Experience driving a product through the full DO-178 lifecycle

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

- Software development experience

- Experience working on aerospace products or projects

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
