We have an opportunity for a System Development Engineer in the Amazon Foundational Security Services (AFSS) organization, and are looking for a technical leader who is ready to transform AWS’s identity management landscape.
In AFSS, we build the software, services, and infrastructure that enable Amazon services across the world to build and deliver for customers. We represent the intersection of AWS technology and the need for traditional IT solutions at Amazon’s scale. We’re an AWS-focused, builder-centric organization, focused on using AWS technology to reshape and reinvent foundational infrastructure technologies. What you will do:
As a Systems Development Engineer for Google Workspace. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Google Workspace solutions for our organization. The Google Workspace Engineer must exhibit leadership of the platform, collaborating with all stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess the current infrastructure, and develop strategic plans to optimize and enhance our Google Workspace environment. In this role they will develop and maintain robust, secure, scalable, highly available, and dynamic software and solutions to drive business objectives.
Scope of Work
* Design and plan Google Workspace cloud solution with security, compliance, performance, reliability, cost-optimization, and longevity as the cornerstones of decision-making.
* Develop and maintain Google Workspace policies and best practices.
* Act as a key contributor in the development and ongoing observation of success criteria, performance indicators and services.
* Analyze and optimize technical and business processes using Google Workspace technologies and services.
You will collaborate with other experienced and senior software engineers to drive improvements to our technology, operate and maintain services and software solutions, and build and track metrics to ensure high-quality results.
As the subject-matter expert for Google Workspace, the candidate in this position provides technical acumen for the team and ensures that all new and existing Google Workspace environments on Amazon are successfully deployed and maintained.
Primary responsibilities include, administering and maintaining the identities on the Google Workspace tenant, diagnosing and fixing production issues, and developing automated management and monitoring solutions. Responsibilities also include working alongside development on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects, updating/enhancing our current software, automating support processes, documenting our systems, and managing AFSS organization-level operational cadence and programs.

Qualifications
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud architecture and Google Cloud solutions to meet all requirements
- Strong knowledge of Google Cloud technologies, including: Google Workspace applications, Data storage, Directory services, App Integrations, and Device management
- 3+ years of experience to manage a cloud IDP system such as Entra ID, including 1+ years designing and managing solutions using Google Workspace (G Suite)
Extended Qualifications
- Experience with distributed systems at scale- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification
- Professional Google Workspace Administrator certification

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
