Description
Join us at the forefront of Amazon's sustainability initiatives to work on environmental and social advancements to support Amazon's long term worldwide sustainability strategy. At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon’s scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.
The Sustainability Reporting, Enablement and Governance (S-REG) team's mission is to build a lasting, scalable and trusted sustainability reporting infrastructure to satisfy regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations. We translate external requirements into internal needs and build tools and mechanisms that enable Amazon businesses to meet their Sustainability reporting obligations and effectively manage their Sustainability risks and opportunities.
We are seeking a result-oriented, self-starter who is passionate about using data and automation to simplify complex reporting processes. In this role, you will take ownership of tools and workflows, proactively identifying opportunities to improve, automate, and scale our reporting infrastructure. Your work will directly impact Amazon's ability to deliver high-quality sustainability disclosures by partnering cross-functionally with technical, reporting, and program teams to build reliable, efficient solutions that meet evolving disclosure requirements.
You will enable Amazon's sustainability disclosures through automated, reliable data systems. This involves defining requirements for internal tool improvements and building quick-fix solutions or proof-of-concepts where necessary. You'll create monitoring dashboards that consolidate data from internal and external tools like Workiva to ensure data pipeline health and integrity. Your responsibilities include developing automated alerting systems that detect metric defects and data inconsistencies, streamlining data flows between reporting tools, and leveraging GenAI to scale reporting processes. Working across technical, reporting, and program teams, you'll troubleshoot system connections and deliver solutions that reduce manual effort, accelerate reporting cycles, and maintain data accuracy for disclosure compliance.
Success in this role requires managing multiple, often conflicting stakeholder requirements while providing clear direction in ambiguous situations. You must be a self-starter who builds proof-of-concept solutions and rapidly moves them to production, navigating both internal systems and external disclosure tools with ease. Strong judgment is essential to balance quick wins with scalable infrastructure that enhances data quality, automation, and operational efficiency.
Key job responsibilities
- Automate disclosure workflows – Identify manual processes causing errors in internal and external tools (including Workiva) and implement automated solutions that reduce manual effort, minimize risk, and accelerate reporting cycles.
- Build data observability infrastructure – Design and maintain dashboards and alerts that monitor data pipelines across disclosure tools, enabling early detection of quality or integrity issues and empowering teams with self-service diagnostics.
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives – Collaborate with WWS teams to develop solutions that address immediate business needs while informing long-term product strategy and roadmap priorities.
- Own end-to-end release quality – Establish comprehensive testing frameworks, feedback loops, and review processes with technical partners to ensure each data pipeline, dashboard, and integration launch is reliable, accurate, and aligned with business requirements.
- Drive operational excellence – Continuously identify opportunities to reduce costs, simplify system maintenance, and enhance automation and reliability across the disclosure technology stack.
- Provide systems support – Act as the main point of contact for disclosure systems, providing rapid troubleshooting, issue resolution, and ongoing support to reporting teams.
