Description
The FM Strategy team influences ASIN forecasting and buying signals for the AMXL network to optimize inventory placement and network efficiency. This role owns deep-dive analysis of buying opportunities and building a multi-year roadmap for systematic improvements to AMXL's buying systems. You'll identify and fix buying system issues hampering our ability to buy enough inventory, partner with SCOT teams to improve baseline forecasting models for seasonal and new products, and develop hybrid buying strategies that balance Direct Import vs. Domestic sourcing. The role requires strong analytical capabilities (SQL), ability to influence cross-functional partners (SCOT, Category teams, IPC), and strategic thinking to define the right metrics and entitlements for AMXL buying optimization at scale.Key job responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Analysis
Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify buying system issues and opportunities for AMXL network optimization
Build and maintain multi-year roadmap for buying system improvements and forecast accuracy enhancements
Define entitlements and success metrics for AMXL buying strategies
Forecasting & Buying Systems
Partner with SCOT teams to systematically fix buying system issues and improve baseline forecasting models
Develop hybrid buying strategies balancing Direct Import vs. Domestic sourcing based on cost and placement optimization
Cross-Functional Partnership
Influence SCOT and Category teams to implement buying improvements at scale
Collaborate with Science teams on forecasting model development for AMXL-specific characteristics
Partner with S&OP and Finance teams on trade-off analysis and capacity planning
Data-Driven Decision Making
Perform SQL-based analysis on forecast accuracy, buying patterns, and inventory positioning
Identify opportunities to incorporate external signals (e.g., weather for seasonal products) into forecasting
Analyze goal alignment challenges for seasonal and new products
Process Improvement & Automation
Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual forecasting and planning overhead
Challenge status quo on metrics and methodologies (e.g., "What's the right metric for AMXL success?")
About the team
AMXL First Mile (FM) Strategy team is responsible for driving Inventory Placement and Health strategy for the North America AMXL network, which involves optimizing placement of Retail and Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) inventory as well as balancing the AMXL network for inventory cube versus demand. The team manages inputs into Amazon inventory placement systems/tools for the AMXL network, influence inventory forecasting and buying signals, and partners with Supply Chain Optimization Tech (SCOT) and AMXL Category teams on various inventory/placement and Optimal Inventory Health (OIH) related initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- 2+ years of supply chain experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Extended Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
