The Sub Same Day team is seeking a Principal, Supply Chain Manager who will lead the supply chain design and integration for new product launches within the Sub Same Day team.

We are looking for a dynamic, self-starter, who will learn quickly and thrives in an ambiguous environment. As a Principal, Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible to identify upcoming product launches and trials and be the supply chain expert to design, develop, and execute new processes, product features, policies, goals and solutions that increase delivery speed, reduce errors, decrease costs, and improve the company’s overall transportation program.

Key job responsibilities

- Thrive in an environment of ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the process and delivering on commitments

- Understand Amazon supply chain technology systems, people, and process at a level of depth required to lead new or existing programs

- Perform trade offs and create well informed mental models; including cost-benefits/ROI/NPV/other trade off analysis to support decision making

- Collaborate and lead internal business units including supply chain colleagues, deliver experience product, field operations, transportation, finance, research, science, technology, and engineering teams to effectively integrate new store concepts and delivery products

- Mine data quickly and efficiently to develop creative solutions to emerging customer problems and appropriate supply chain metrics to measure new product success

- Creating reports and process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and quality of execution

- Communicate effectively both written and verbally with both external customers (Service Providers, Carriers, Vendors) and internal customers (Finance, Technology, Site Leadership, Linehaul providers, etc)

- Communicating goals, roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes to cross-functional project teams to gain buy-in and delivery to project schedules

- Working within time constraints; problem solve, remove barriers, and coordinate with stakeholders

A day in the life

A day would generally include a close connection to daily outcome metrics across similar lines of business and staying close to industry trends; learning what does and does not resonate with customers. Bringing these learnings into the workplace the individual in this role will be a resource to the entire supply chain organization, helping to organize the team programmatically to lead cross functional projects to completion and/or maturation. You will partner very heavily with supply chain colleagues to ensure supply chain cost, speed, and quality considerations are integrated into new programs across the broader Amazon fulfillment and logistics organizations. This individual will work closely with tech partners to determine what is feasible in current state with automation, what automation features needed added, and where a more human centric solution is required.

About the team

The team is in a rapid growth phase both with our existing business and the weekly addition of new selection and deliver product lines. With this growth comes a fast pace environment where problems and corresponding solutions have a cycle time of 24 hours. The environment represents a start up with the administrative systems and mechanisms that come within a large corporation.



Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree

- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

- 7+ years of program or project management experience

- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience

- 7+ years of working cross functionally across several teams experience

- 10+ years of supply chain experience

- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements



Extended Qualifications

- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
