Description
Amazon is seeking an industry proven and detail oriented (Sr) Supply Chain Manager to support supply chain innovation and optimization of automation technologies across our Last Mile delivery operation. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, contract manufacturing, change management, and system supplier and/or technology sourcing. The Senior Supply Chain Manager must be agile with the ability to quickly adapt strategies, plans and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. They also must be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. This role is crucial in optimizing our processes, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of packages to our customers while maintaining strong supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement in our automation initiatives.Key job responsibilities
Managing overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, cost and quality improvements.
Collaborating with technical operations, engineering, and program teams on new product introduction programs to define standard and custom product requirements ensuring sourcing strategies meet the technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.
Drive suppliers’ continuous improvement and value engineering in support of program’s performance metrics: quality, delivery, capacity, cost and safety.
Monitor suppliers’ supply chain, manufacturing, human capital with respect to overall program objectives.
Development and execution of global commodity strategies that align business requirements with supplier capabilities.
Develop alternate sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure continuity of supply.
About the team
The Amazon Logistics Supply Chain team owns the supply chain set-up and readiness for all new programs and products across multiple engineering categories (equipment, fixtures consumables etc.). We bring last & middle mile's ambitious goals to life by partnering with a wide set of stakeholders in Worldwide Engineering, WHS, Design, Operations and Procurement. We program manage vendors during the design, deployment, and change management stages. We partner internally and externally to deliver program milestones, cost, quality and sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience in supply chain, commodity, and supplier management in a high volume, global sourcing and operations manufacturing environment.
- Review and understand engineering design documents for mechanical components.
- Experience developing, leading, and executing global commodity strategies focused on supplier cost, risk, and lead time reduction strategies.
- Experience with contract negotiation and execution with high volume domestic and internationally based suppliers.
- Technical, analytical, and management skills to lead RFQs, supplier selection, supplier capacity planning, and supplier risk identification/mitigation in NPI programs.
Extended Qualifications
- Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field- Experience working with steel fabricated components and associated commodities.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and ERP/PLM.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
