We create new logistics benchmarks through disruptive innovation — and we're looking for a bold, analytical leader to help us do it.

The Global Ocean Operations team is seeking an Ocean Supply Chain Manager to own ocean capacity planning for freight moving from global manufacturing hubs into Amazon's international marketplaces. In this high-visibility role, you'll engage directly with major ocean carriers, influence network topology decisions, and drive operational excellence across a complex, fast-moving supply chain.

If you thrive in ambiguous environments, love diving deep into data, and want to make a measurable global impact — this role is for you.

Key job responsibilities

- Own ocean carrier performance management, ensuring partners meet Amazon's standards for efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance

- Develop and execute risk management strategies for seasonal peak volumes, including proactive contingency protocols to prevent service failures

- Provide input on network topology to support global supply chain planning

- Retrieve and analyze data using Excel, Tableau, SQL, or other data management and visualization tools

- Partner with procurement teams to drive ocean carrier bid processes

- Evaluate available technology to support planning processes and influence product design with partner Tech teams

- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

A day in the life

In this role, you'll start your day reviewing carrier performance dashboards and demand signals, then align with procurement and network planning teams on capacity decisions. You'll field escalations from operations partners, dig into data to identify root causes, and present recommendations to senior leaders. You'll collaborate with a multicultural, multilingual team spanning multiple time zones — and no two days will look the same.
