Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to partner with enterprise customers in the telecommunications sector. In this role, you will help design and architect cloud solutions across the full spectrum of enterprise IT needs - from modernizing legacy applications and data centers to implementing innovative cloud-native solutions. You'll work with customers to drive their digital transformation initiatives while ensuring their specific industry requirements are met.As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud solutions and provide strategic guidance on migrating existing workloads to the cloud. You will build deep relationships with senior technical leaders to enable them as cloud advocates within their companies. A core responsibility is educating customers on the value proposition of AWS through training sessions, deep architectural discussions, and cloud acceleration programs.
You will drive revenue growth by formulating and executing sales strategies in partnership with the AWS Sales team. This involves mobilizing internal AWS resources and the partner ecosystem to ensure successful application/service builds and migrations onto AWS. Additionally, you will capture and share best practice knowledge across AWS, including authoring customer-facing content like whitepapers and blog posts.
The ideal candidate has a passion for cloud computing with a proven track record in technology consulting, solutions architecture, or pre-sales engineering. You must be broadly competent across infrastructure, security, DevOps, databases, app development, analytics, and deep expertise in at least two areas. The ability to connect technology to measurable business value is critical. Strong interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with all customer stakeholders from developers to CXOs.

A day in the life
In this role, your typical day will involve deep collaboration with enterprise customers, AWS account teams, and specialized service teams across AWS. You will lead architectural discussions to help customers envision, design, and implement transformative solutions that modernize their IT landscape and unlock business value through cloud adoption.
A significant portion of your time will be spent conducting technical discovery workshops, architectural deep-dives, and whiteboarding sessions with customer engineering teams. You'll analyze current-state architectures, identify optimization opportunities, and create detailed reference architectures that align with AWS best practices. Through these engagements, you'll help customers build a clear roadmap for their cloud journey while considering security, compliance, and operational excellence.
Your expertise will be channeled into developing reusable solutions, writing technical content, and creating proof-of-concepts that demonstrate the art of possible. You'll regularly present to technical and business stakeholders, building consensus around cloud adoption strategies while addressing concerns and removing barriers to transformation.
Your day will blend strategic customer engagements with hands-on solution development and continuous learning. The AWS Solutions Architecture community provides extensive opportunities for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and staying current with rapidly evolving AWS services and features. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries- Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
Extended Qualifications
- Advanced Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Information Technology- 5+ Years of experience working with Machine Learning and Data Science communities.
- 3+ years of experience working with AWS ML technologies.
- Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges (internal/external) and mitigate business risks.
- Previous experience architecting, building or operating solutions build on AWS
- AWS certifications
- Managed Large Customer engagements
- Ability to build demos, hands-on in the cloud
- Experience writing and publishing technical whitepapers or patents

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
